The Aditya Haasan directorial arrived in theatres with considerable expectations, particularly because Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya were reuniting after the success of Baby. However, Epic – First Semester could not sustain momentum at the box office and ended its theatrical run as a commercial disappointment. Reports tracking its final collections put its worldwide gross at around ₹10–12 crore, with the exact figures varying across trade sources.

What Is Epic – First Semester About?
Epic – First Semester is a youthful romantic drama set against the backdrop of college life and a new beginning.
Anand Deverakonda plays Aditya, while Vaishnavi Chaitanya appears as Kadali. The story follows a young man who moves to London for higher studies, where his first semester brings new experiences, relationships and emotional challenges.
The film explores the changes that come with leaving home, adapting to a different environment and navigating love and personal aspirations.
One of the biggest attractions of Epic – First Semester is the reunion of Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya.
The actors previously shared the screen in Baby, which became a major success and turned their pairing into a popular combination among Telugu audiences.
Epic – First Semester brings them together again, this time in a completely new story directed by Aditya Haasan.
Epic – First Semester Cast and Crew
Along with Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya, the film features Sivaji, Vasuki, Srinivas Gavireddy and Kalyan Shankar in key roles.
Aditya Haasan has written and directed the film, while Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya produced it under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. Srikara Studios presented the movie.
The music is composed by Hesham Abdul Wahab.
Epic Failed to Live Up to Expectations in Theatres
There was considerable curiosity around Epic – First Semester before its theatrical release. The film marked the reunion of Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya, whose previous collaboration Baby became a major success.
The film also came from Aditya Haasan, the creator of the popular web series 90s – A Middle Class Biopic, which raised expectations around his first feature film.
However, Epic struggled to convert that pre-release interest into sustained theatrical footfalls. The film opened to around ₹2.10 crore net in India on Day 1, but collections dropped over the following days. By Day 3, reports described the film as struggling at the box office, with weak word of mouth affecting its run.
